MONSTERS IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER:

Akhlut [L]

A mix of bear and killer whale, also called «Killer Bear» by ignorants. They inhabit icy ecosystems near the sea. Carnivorous but easily domesticated due to their intelligence.

A double-edged sword for people living in cold places. As enemies, they're a nightmare, but as allies, they're an excellent tool and very good pets.

Specialties

— Hybrid Anatomy:
Capable of moving on land and under water.
— Killer Skills:
Natural ability to hunt effectively.

Weaknesses

— Low Energy:
Due to their big mass, their stamina is low on land.

Alicanto [L]

Large, bioluminescent birds that feed on precious metals. Their yellow feathers glow as their bodies digest the treasures they consume, a process that prevents them from flying due to the significant added weight. Because of their unique nature, they are highly valued by treasure-hungry bounty hunters, in this case metaphorically speaking. However, its high intelligence allows it to deter predators by luring them into traps and quickly escaping to its nests in high caves and thick trees.

Born as an irresistible temptation for greedy creatures, this bird manages to be both a blessing and a curse. Anyone who decides to pursue it must be willing to die a foolish death, for these birds know the location of all kinds of dungeons and fool’s traps where treasures are often found.

Specialties

— Treasure Eating:
The act of consuming lots of precious metals.
— Quick Flight:
Smart and fast escape in case of encountering danger.

Weaknesses

— Heavy Body:
When full.

Boitata [L+]

Giant snakes with multiple eyes and Elemental fire powers. They are considered «The Protectors of the Jungle», ironically preventing forest fires. They use their powers to absorb fire from campfires, torches, and other careless acts by travelers and other creatures, only to expel it later, ensuring that their habitat catches fire only when necessary. Their numerous eyes, which cover their entire bodies, help them expand their surveillance range and also enable Mages to make powerful fire spells.

Since there are Elementals and creatures carrying torches roaming the jungles and setting everything ablaze without a care in the world, Shankamanhk took it upon himself to punish anyone who decides to disrupt his mother’s most vulnerable ecosystem, literally fighting fire with fire.

specialties

— Fire Breathing*:
Their scales absorb and expel large amounts of fire at will.
— Burning Supervision*:
Their multiple eyes cover a wide field of vision thanks to their long size.

Weaknesses

— Low Temperatures:
Vulnerable to cold and water/earth Elemental attacks.
— The Head:
Their only lethal spot.

Caladrius [L+]

Birds with white plumage, endowed with healing powers and good intentions. They are capable of curing illnesses and pains simply by their presence. Their body parts are extremely useful for healing potions, and their meat effectively regenerates wounds. They inhabit fertile, temperate areas, hidden from all malevolent creatures and drawn to all benevolent ones, although their healing power is equally effective for both.

Many have tried to capture them to harness their healing power, but because they are unable to adapt well, they always die in captivity within a matter of days. They are very rare and, therefore, highly sought after. If you encounter one in its natural habitat, it will be compelled to heal you if you are suffering from an illness or injury; in that case, it is recommended that you not interfere. The only monster created with the help of Buenamagia.

Specialties

— Wonderful Presence*:
Their surroundings are filled with Magical Essence.
— Healing*:
All their body expels a healing spell.

Weaknesses

— Harmless:
Incapable of harm.
— Misfits:

Catcus [C]

Felines that inhabit arid deserts, whose fur is made up of spines capable of injecting venom. They live off cacti, mixing their own venom with the cactus sap to make liquor, which they gladly consume. They are too dangerous to be pets, and too rebellious to be warriors, but they are not aggressive due to their lack of natural predators. They are very slow compared to other felines, but they see easily in the dark, their fur is a great insulator, and their spines are effective weapons.

Icons for every liquor-loving civilization. Their carefree style inspires many to follow their hedonistic philosophy. Their venom is cured by drinking cactus juice.

Specialties

— Liquor Preparation:
They make liquor by mixing their venom with cactus juice.
— Poisonous Thorns:
Their fur releases thorns containing a unique venom.
— Cactus Skin:

Chimera [N]

Cipactli [C-]

Marine lizards with several mouths all over their body. They resemble crocodiles, but with fins, a long tail, faster and thinner. Considered as a cataclysm for fish and other marine creatures since they are always hungry and actively looking for food. Due to their chaotic nature, their reproduction turns difficult, since they often want to eat their mates after procreating.

Despite several super predators underwater and massive fishing, there was still an overpopulation of fish, so with the intention of cleaning up the waters, Shankamanhk created this specimen. It is useless to try to tame it, as it dies after four hours without eating, and its small brain is incapable of picking up any other signal other than to consume.

Specialties

— Multiple Mouths:
All their body is filled with hungry mouths.
— Insatiable Stamina:
In constant movement.

Weaknesses

— Low Visibility:
Mouths instead of eyes.
— Short Attention Span:
Unable to commit to one target.

Cuero [C-]

Carnivorous marine creatures whose shape resembles that of an enormous cowhide spread out over the water, but with a mouth on the underside that sucks in their prey. Thanks to their inconspicuous appearance, they manage to go unnoticed while sensing vibrations in the water at the surface. They attack by coiling around their prey and dragging it underwater to feed on its blood or tissues. They are solitary by nature, so once they reproduce, they make sure to stay as far away as possible from others of their species so as not to give themselves away.

Their strange shape causes Sentient Species to let their guard down and increase their curiosity. They're hard to kill, but they make for an interesting rug.

Specialties

— Inconspicuous Floating:
Float on the water without moving.
— Skinning:
Use their many teeth to strip the skin off its victim.

Weaknesses

— Low Mobility
They move as easily as a mat on water.

From time to time, they come to the surface when they sense extreme vibrations, mistaking them for mating calls. It is not recommended to cause extreme vibrations in the sand.

Their work as natural hydraulic engineers and exterminators of underground roots allows the desert to function, making them the «Guardians of the Desert.»

Dragon [L]

Legendary and special creatures with an incalculable level of magic. Even rarer than Unicorns. There are very few in each ecosystem. Their physical appearance varies from one individual to another, making each one unique. They can be identified by their majestic presence and reptilian form. They may have wings, horns, more than two legs or none at all, long torsos, tails, sharp teeth, among other impressive features. Most have scales and magical powers, such as breathing fire or reading minds. They are believed to possess great wisdom, but no one has ever seen enough of them to corroborate this. They live for centuries and hibernate for decades. It can take years for them to hatch from their eggs. Their body parts are invaluable and used in the most powerful talismans. If there is a tier list of the most powerful and impressive monsters, Dragons would take the crown.

Always treated as a myth or at least a legend. Not a single species managed to tame them or even comprehend their nature. You can consider yourself insanely lucky if you possess a little part of them, and even more if you've seen one. Some might say that their favorite spots are the most dangerous and remote places. If you find yourself in a situation where you have to fight one, the chances of winning are practically nil.

Specialties

— Elemental Powers*:
Capable of producing and mastering different Elements.
— Levitation*:

Erumia [L]

Colossal jellyfish with immense psychic power. Their tentacles generate a high voltage powered by their enormous brain. Confronting them is incredibly difficult, as they mentally control every non-intelligent creature within a 6-kilometer radius, allowing them to feed on these creatures or use them as a defense if they feel threatened. Their intelligence is unmatched, and their ability to read minds is unparalleled, though they are completely incapable of communicating with Sentient Species. They are naturally untouchable, and they produce numerous offspring to compensate for their short lifespan. Before dying of old age, their brain emits a long-range wave that attracts predators to consume every trace of their body.

Since they have a high birth rate, it is recommended to capture their young before they reach maturity in order to harness their psychic powers for Telekinesis spells. To encounter one and escape with your life, you must be a fast and extremely agile swimmer, for if it detects even the slightest offensive intent in your tiny brain, it will summon the most fearsome marine predators to hunt you down.

Specialties

— Wild Control*:
Capable of controlling the mind of multiple animals and monsters.
— Mind Reading*:
Capable of reading the mind of all creatures.
— Shock Wave*:
Kinetic force emanating from their brain that expels nearby organisms.
— High Voltage*:

Shankamanhk's first attempt to make a functional creature that looked scary. It didn't take long before realizing that creating them was a mistake, but most mistakes are impossible to erase. Now it is a reminder of how everything begun.

GHOST [L]

Souls of thinking Species who, upon death, cling to life either through deep remorse or by rejecting their final fate. When this occurs, Verzher cannot devour their souls, leaving them trapped in the realm of the living, moving in the Phantom Dimension, transformed into invisible and intangible specters to all other beings. In this state, their minds are suspended, condemned to slowly forget the pain that binds them. However, the stronger their willpower, the greater their influence upon The Living Dimension. They are vulnerable to Dark Magic and may be summoned or contacted through rituals and necromancy knowledge. The only way to cast them out is to resolve that which keeps them chained to earthly existence. They may otherwise remain indefinitely.

Those strong and stubborn enough to reject the warm hug of death are punished by Verzher to an eternal quest for whatever chains them to life, but without the power to accomplish it. Hundreds have suffered for thousands of years just because of their negligence, losing their memories and remaining as echoes of their regrets. Malamagia, as a fan for second chances, created Dark Magic to manipulate the dangerous line between Life and Death, which made possible to control them in specific ways. So spooky.

Specialties

— Spectral Presence*:
Capable of showing themselves through Dark Magic spells.
— Immortality:
With no physical form, they can't be harmed.

— Necromancy:
Highly vulnerable to the art of controlling the dead.

No traveler who has encountered one has experienced a hostile encounter without having provoked it first. Since they can remain in the same spot for long periods of time, most of the time they are not even noticed.

Once their life ends, they turn into stone. Cycle of Life.

Born from the fascination of mixing some of the most terrifying things: Snakes and Women. No matter how much they try to extinguish them, the Dark Magic Essence always finds a way to spawn at least one in a rocky dark closed place. It took thinking Species much longer than they would like to admit to realize that looking at their eyes was lethal.

They are used for wind Elemental spells or as vehicles, since they are easy to keep in captivity. The hard part is to reach them.

Nevertheless, the more heads they create, the less intelligence each one will retain. No one ever saw how many heads they can grow, but it is theorized that the limit is 19.

Since they appeared, the long walks on the beach became a more interesting hobby. In a short time, they rose to one of the top positions in the food chain, becoming one of the most feared and dangerous monsters in the catalog, and the living proof that three heads don't think better than one.

Although they move within the Phantom Dimension, their nature functions similarly to that of ordinary foxes, but with greater freedom, as they are untouchable by any being from the Living Dimension. At night, they appear over bodies of water to scare travelers and drown children, although they never kill their victims, only traumatize them for life with their tricks and illusions. They have long dark hair and a ghostly appearance. If you see their face, you will witness your deepest fears. Defeat them with a good pair of guts.

Inspired by the horrors of the feminine figure, Shankamanhk, with the help of Malamagia, created a soulless spirit to scare lost travelers near water. Soon, these specters inspired countless legends for the ones that remained far away, calling them different names and creating all sorts of stories around them. Mostly referred as «The Crying Lady», because of the eerie sound they make when they are near.

Specialties

— Terrifying Projection*:
With one look at their face, their victims see their deepest fears.
— Untouchable:
Being specters, they exist in the Phantom Dimension.

Weaknesses

— Bravery:
Grow a pair of guts and ignore their screams.

Sermilik [N-]

Giant bears with the Elemental power of ice, considered «The Incarnation of Cold.» Also known as «Nanurluks,» they constantly freeze the air around them, creating icicles attached to their bodies that serve as protection. They freeze water on contact, so they are unable to submerge themselves to hunt fish, limiting their diet to land-dwelling creatures, including predators such as winter bears or even Akhluts. Heat weakens them, and their body parts are used for ice Elemental spells or to chill beverages.

Popular among customers in hot climates, as it is the only creature whose skin provides a cooling sensation when worn, although the effect lasts for only 6 weeks after its death.

Specialties

— Air Conditioning*:
Cools their surroundings with their presence.
— Ice Armor*:
The ice in their body protects their skin.
— Destructive Size:
Capable of destroying entire ships with ease.

Weaknesses

— High Temperatures:
Vulnerable to heat and fire/wind Elemental attacks.

Skinwalker [N-]

Shape-shifting worms, experts at deceiving their prey with their appearance, but with great difficulty replicating the common behaviors of thinking Species; as a result, they limit themselves to imitating animals and other monsters. They usually take a long time to devour their prey, so they make sure to lure them away from their group to attack them alone when their guard is down. They can shrink and grow to mimic almost any creature, from small to big. Their skin is used in armor, as it is highly flexible, soft, and easy to cut on the outside, but tough and covered with teeth on the inside.

Shankamanhk’s first attempt to create a shape-shifting monster. It proved incapable of logical deception but has mastered physical seduction.

Specialties

— Deceptive Seduction*:
They lure their victims by transforming into a member of their own species.
— Hard Interior:
Capable of holding almost any creature inside it for a long time.

Weaknesses

— Slow Digestion:
It takes them a long time to chew their prey once they've eaten it.
— No Thinking:
Unable to deceive thinking Species.
— Soft Skin:
Their skin is just as sensitive, regardless of their shape.

Slime [C-]

Viscous and elastic amalgams that disintegrate all organic matter that enters their bodies. Since they are slow and literally have no brain, the most efficient way to get their food is to save items inside of them and use them as bait. They can choose to reproduce multiplying their heart if they have enough mass around it. The more they eat, the bigger they become, but they are equally lethal regardless of the size. Highly moldeable and a perfect way to keep your dungeon clean.

When Mages discovered these lethal mucus secretions growing inside of their dungeons, it was a matter of time before they use them in every magical way possible. Soon it was discovered that they could easily absorb Spells, making them magical conductors and an essential part in Magic Crafting.

Specialties

— Magical Conduction*:
Natural absorption and conduction of Magic Spells.
— Disintegration:
Capable of consuming organic matter completely.

Weaknesses

— Brainless:
Unable to think or sense anything other than life signals.
— Their Heart:
Hit 'em in the heart.

Shlooken [C]

Considerably fatter, slower, and more nutritious than chickens, yet far scarcer due to their poor reproduction. They can only breed in winter, when their eggs are plentiful. Once domesticated as livestock, they provide an abundant source of meat, rich in both nutrients and flavor. Their two pupils in each eye limit their vision and balance, which is why they barely survive in the wild.

What began as an experimentation ended up as a gift for all species. Symbol of cowardice and patheticness, admiration and lust. You might be surprised by everything that comes from the idea of a thick source of nourishment.

Specialties

— Voluptuous Body:
Cute enough to provoke tenderness or lust out of their predators.

Weaknesses

— The Outside World:
They are easy prey in the wild.

Skeleton [C]

The result of a Ghost possessing a corpse. When the soul is transferred into a dead body, it erases the memories of the soul and becomes a new immortal being based on bones and a forgotten personality. They are seen as irrational maniacs, since being incapable of dying or sleeping causes their minds to drift easily into madness. They only live at night, as sunlight completely incapacitates them. They maintain control over every bone of the possessed corpse, so the only way to release their souls is by exorcism through Dark Magic.

The tormented souls of deceased Species who did not accept their fate are naturally drawn to bodies that once lived. Although their personality and basic instincts remain, their memory is lost forever as a result of the birth of this artificial life. This rule of death was implemented by Leslie to give an end to the infinite sorrow of Ghosts, transforming it into infinite madness, which is a more fitting ending for a selfish soul.

Specialties

— Immortality:
Unable to die, even if their bodies are destroyed.
— Bone Autonomy:
Complete control over all of their bones.

Weaknesses

— Sunlight:
The light of day puts them to sleep.

SnallyGaster [C-]

Flying beasts with one eye and multiple tongues on either side of their beaks. Similar to a vulture or a dragon, but more likely to appear in your nightmares. They feed on livestock and any other easy prey. Their behavior is erratic and chaotic, so much so that they’re capable of hunting for pleasure and then forgetting about their prey. They inhabit remote mountains and sleep 12 hours a day, so encountering one is unlikely, but never impossible.

It's unclear what Shankamanhk's intentions might have been when he created this monstrosity, but one can surmise that it was cathartic.

Specialties

— Bully Attack:
They attack and tear apart any victim who appears to be alone and weak.
— Nightmare Fuel:
Their presence makes for difficult nights.

Weaknesses

— Clumsy Flight:
Unable to fly very high or very far.
— Sensitive Skin:
Soft skin, similar to that of a turkey, but way bitter.

Thunderbird [L+]

Powerful four-winged birds with Elemental thunder power. They inhabit high mountains, where their presence is most noticeable during a storm. They like to make noise and intimidate other creatures to demonstrate their power, even though this makes them easier to spot. Their body parts are commonly used in Elemental electric spells.

They carry great spiritual significance due to their imposing appearance and haughty demeanor. Mages and Artisans view them more as a flying energy generator.

Specialties

— Electrifying Presence*:
They unleash lightning and loud thunder wherever they go.
— Charged Body*:
Capable of providing electrical energy if used correctly.

Weaknesses

— Poor Stealth:
Unable to go unnoticed.
— Low Temperatures:
Vulnerable to cold and earth/ice Elemental attacks.

Tupilaq [C]

Artificial monsters created from parts of corpses. Using enough bones, flesh, and tendons, the most powerful Necromancers are able to create zombie-like creatures, but customized and more flexible, though less functional since they do not need a brain to move. They are typically used as slaves in Dungeons, performing routine tasks constantly without ever being distracted. Since they are literally a pile of flesh and bones held together by Magic, they are limited to replicating movements programmed by their Necromancer until their magical energy is depleted, just like a machine, but powered by Dark Magic.

They depend entirely on Dark Magic to exist, and although they lack any kind of autonomy, they nonetheless strike terror into those unfamiliar with how they work, due to their macabre nature and appearance.

Specialties

— Uninterrupted Movement:
They do their task eternally.
— Disposable:
If destroyed, they can be rebuilt or replaced.

Weaknesses

— Brainless:
Unable to do anything outside of their programming.
— Low Resistance:
Their bodies lack a solid underlying structure.

Tyrannosaur [L]

The favorite of the children and the most feared in the jungle. Extremely big and strong. With a high of 3 to 9 meters, they dominated the food chain, so much so that the Elves and Cyclopes almost eradicated them from the lands by trying to dominate and collect them, which the Orcs ended up doing for sport. Considerably hard to find one alive after the Magical Plague.

The first great creation of Shankamanhk. They made their appearance shortly after the reptiles were created. A symbol of power and fear. Once the representative animal of Elfyros, now an endangered species. Orcs still use their bones for decorating, and if you find one, your status will automatically change from Pathetic to Extreme.

Specialties

— Super Predator Skills:
Sharp senses and big strength, giving them a great ability to hunt.

Weaknesses

— Unfair Proportions:
Little arms.

Unicorn [L+]

These rare and elusive creatures can appear in any ecosystem with various forms. Similar to horses, but with a magical horn on their forehead, sometimes with wings, and always beautiful. Their magical horn allows them to channel Magic with ease, while their powerful wings allow flight at unmatched speeds. Never hostile, and always fleeing from confrontation.
A Unicorn with wings is considered as a Winged Unicorn, or «Pegacorn» if you are simple minded. Winged Unicorns are specially rare within an already rare species, since they are born from the mix of a Unicorn and a Pegasus.

Conceived as a symbol of purity and beauty. Many species tried to tame them with a few successful attempts. Once spotted, the best you can do is admire them. Their horn is a highly valued item for its Magic powers and the feathers of their wings are used as armor. Their vomit is sweet and their stools are a powerful fertilizer. Their pee is just horse pee.

Specialties

— Teleportation*:
Their magical horn is capable of casting a unique teleporting spell.
— Magical Aura*:
Capable of producing Magical Essence.
— Natural Beauty:
Nature around them is grateful and pleased with their presence.

Weaknesses

— Dark Magic:
Highly allergic to evilness.

Vampire [L-]

Bodies possessed by Demons. They can possess and control the mind of other living beings by sucking their blood, sharing their powers in the process, as long as the victim has blood to share. They maintain a young and attractive appearance of the possessed body to attract more victims, even regenerating its imperfections and wounds. Like Skeletons, they only live at night, with the difference that the sun completely annihilates them. They can also be destroyed with wooden and silver weapons. Due to Hell's limitations on the dimension of the living, they cannot enter safe spaces without invitation. Their weaknesses compensate for their powers. As in addition to immortality, they possess great strength, the ability to fly, and a hive mind that allows them to share knowledge with their victims instantly.

The only way to recover the soul of the body once a Demon is summoned is by playing with extremely high levels of Necromancy. They inspire horror in many cultures for several good reasons, but if you are skilled enough, hunting them is a fun activity, specially if you have silver, since it's the most reflective material. Scientists are still trying to figure out their cardiac allergy to wood, but probably is just a silly joke by Leslie.

Specialties

— Immortality*:
Capable of regenerating fast and unable to die of age.
— Hive Mind*:
All knowledge and experience is connected with every victim.
— Self Telekinesis*:
No physical limitations. Great strength and capable of flying.
— Natural Appeal:
Biological attraction due to their danger and eternal youth.

Weaknesses

— Sunlight:
The light of day annihilates them.
— Garlic:
Highly allergic to garlic.
— Silver:
Unable to regenerate wounds provoked by silver weapons.
— Wood in Heart:
Stab 'em in the heart with a wooden weapon.
— Consent:
Unable to invade your space if you refuse.

Wendigo [L-]

Terrifying specters that dwell in dense forests. Also called «Wechuges», their bodies consist of an animal skull with antlers, from which a pure, volatile mass of spectral blackness emerges, allowing them to change shape at will and take on the image of any creature. They use their shapeshifting ability to mimic, lure, possess, and devour thinking Species. They reproduce by possessing females in order to give birth to an antlered forest animal, whose skull will form the body of a new Wendigo upon its death. They live in solitude and are greatly feared for their macabre nature.

The very last creation of Shankamanhk as an insult for his step father. This beast was seen for the first time by Humans, and remained as a legend for other Species, inspiring terror in many villages. Considered «The Spirit of the Forest», and a cruel nightmare for any greedy traveler.

Specialties

— Deception*:
Capable of transforming into any shape to lure their preys if they are not alone.
— Possession*:
Capable of possessing and corrupting a thinking creature.

Weaknesses

— Their Skull:
Destroy the skull if you spot it.

Zombie [N]

The result of Witchers playing with the dead. With a good mastery of Necromancy, corpses of any creature from tiny to big can be manipulated and slaved to do simple commands. The results are not the most efficient, but at least there are no losses. Since the spell only affects a dead brain inside of a corpse, the zombie craves for fresh ones if they are not properly controlled.

Thinking Species will cross any line in order to get slaves. Contrary to what you may think, the disease of the living dead is not contagious, just deeply disturbing. If you find one, just aim to the head as they always say. For security, always check your lawn.

Specialties

— Dead Living:
Due to their lack of life, they cannot die unless their brain connections are hit.

Weaknesses

— Braaain:
Destroy the brain and they will stop moving. Shoot the head!
